“Breakfast Hero”

Andover High School students in Advanced Film/Video production recently won first place in the Fifth Annual School Breakfast video contest, School Breakfast: Eat. Film. Screen. sponsored by The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (ESE) Child Nutrition Outreach Program (CNOP) at Project Bread.

The “Breakfast Hero” video beat out nearly 100 other entries for the top prize: a $1,000 gift card, an appearance on WHDH-TV’s “Urban Update”, and a celebratory event hosted by the ESE and CNOP earlier this morning. The winning video features a distracted main character being haunted, figuratively and literally, by a sugary donut during class time. The distracted student runs away from the classroom being chased by the sugary donut, eventually tripping and falling into the cafeteria. A school nutrition worker kicks the donut out of the scene, handing the now focused and excited student a healthy school breakfast.
