International Night at Sanborn

Did you know that at Sanborn School we have  ………

31 children who speak Chinese, including Mandarin, Uyghur, Taiwanese, and Cantonese?
37 children whose families speak languages from India and Sri Lanka, including Punjabi, Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarti, Tamil, Kashmiri, Sinhalese, and Telegu?
14 children who speak Spanish?
15 children who speak Korean?
  4 children who speak Arabic?
  4 children who speak Hebrew?
14 other languages represented in our school, including:  Portuguese, Turkish, German, Italian, Urdu, Hungarian, Japanese, Romanian, Vietnamese, Farsi, French, Bulgarian, Greek, and Dutch?

To celebrate our students and their families, Sanborn’s Fourth Annual International Night took place on Wednesday, March 23from 6:30 – 8:00.   The cafeteria was filled with table displays, demonstrations, and delicious snacks from around the world, including Canada, China, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Morocco, Palestine, Puerto Rico, Romania, Syria, and Taiwan.  Performances representing different cultures and traditions took place in the gymnasium, including a Chinese Lion Dance and Kung Fu, Indian Dances, a Hindi Song,  a traditional American song, and an Arabic Line Dance.
