Sanborn School recognized for Excellence in Energy and Environmental Education

Earlier this year, a dedicated group of staff and students from Sanborn Elementary (Food Rescue Initiative and Recycling Program and the Sanborn Zero-Waste team) got involved in a school based program that promotes environmental and energy education in the community.

Just recently, this group was notified by the state that they were a winner of the 2016 Secretary's Award for Excellence in Energy & Environmental Education

The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Matthew Beaton will present the award to them at a ceremony at the Massachusetts State House on Monday, May 2nd at 11 A.M. “This program honors the passion, curiosity and hard work of these educators and students as they study clean energy, recycling, conservation, wildlife and many other pressing issues in our world.”

This award was open to all public and private Massachusetts schools (K-12) that offer energy and environmental education programs.
